You

You are capable, reliable. People see you as put together and dependable, which you are. You show up and you do what needs to get done.

But inside you feel anxious and you tell yourself it will pass. You ignore it and hope it goes away.

And now, you’re starting to feel depressed, numb, disconnected. Exhausted and maybe even burnt out.

The struggle within you is palpable.

The heaviness of exhaustion and the tug of “I have to say yes,” and “I have to show up.”

Or the push-pull of “what they need” and “what I need.”

You feel it all over. Your legs feel like lead, your head feels fuzzy. Your chest, heart are ready to burst.

Your Parts

These are likely your parts, showing up in ways to get your attention.

Some of your parts are telling you that you have to say yes to make sure that you make it through the next few moments without conflict or harm.

While other parts are using your body to get you to notice that saying yes again, is too much.

Using IFS

Using IFS (Internal Family Systems), we can get curious with all of these parts to learn their perspectives and intentions.

When we give your parts gentle attention with curiosity, we give them voice.

When we hear their voice, we gain clarity about their roles.

This is validating for your parts.

When parts feel validated and understood, they often soften back.

As your parts soften back, you gain more access to the lost, quieted, exiled parts of your system.

This access gives you the opportunity to reconnect with and change your relationship with your parts.

By changing your relationship with your parts, you can change how you relate to the people around you.

This change lends to a shift towards internal harmony and balance within you and within your life.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a shift from talk therapy, allowing for deeper exploration.

By focusing on your thoughts, feelings and physical sensations, IFS helps you better understand why sometimes the feeling in your stomach becomes all-consuming; or where the guilty feeling comes from; or why you feel undeserving and at the same time know that you are worthy.

With patience, respect and openness, I will guide you in getting to know your parts that hold those beliefs, perceptions and burdens.

By understanding your parts, you can gain clarity, calm and space within you. This gives you access to your inherent capacity to heal and in this healing space, together, you and I will help your parts release their burdens and pain and restore balance and empowerment within.

As an IFS Institute Level 3-trained Therapist, I love helping people who are curious, want to know more about themselves and are open to looking within to find their answers.
