OVerview of IFS Intensive Sessions

Licensed LMFT offering Internal family systems (IFS) intensive sessions for high-functioning adults in california

IFS intensives are designed for adults who are highly capable and self-reflective but feel stuck in persistent internal conflict, emotional shutdown, or repetitive relational patterns and who want focused, immersive depth work rather than weekly therapy.

You may be a strong match if you:

  • Are comfortable with emotional depth

  • Are motivated for focused, immersive work

  • Understand that insight unfolds over time

  • Are seeking psychotherapy; not coaching

  • Resonate with IFS and parts-based language

IFS intensives provide extended time to explore the internal dynamics that keep you anxious, over-responsible, or disconnected from yourself.

This format allows for depth and continuity that weekly therapy sometimes cannot provide.

IFS Intensives may be a strong fit if you:

  • Feel caught between parts of you that want different things

  • Appear outwardly stable but experience internal tension or numbness

  • Carry high responsibility and struggle to access your own needs

  • Have done prior therapy and want deeper, more concentrated work

  • Prefer a structured, time-limited immersion rather than ongoing weekly sessions

  • Are specifically seeking an Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach

IFS intensives are not designed for:

  • Crisis-level or stabilization-focused care

  • Active suicidal intent requiring higher-level support

  • Court-mandated therapy

  • Couples therapy

  • Clients seeking skills-only, solution-focused, or coaching-style work

This format is depth-oriented psychotherapy delivered in an extended structure.

My Therapeutic Approach & Style for ifs intensive therapy

I use the Internal Family Systems model to explore internal “parts” that hold anxiety, shutdown, over-functioning, or self-criticism.

The focus is on understanding internal patterns and protective strategies, rather than trauma exposure or memory processing.

Sessions are extended (typically 90-minute to 3-hour sessions or half-day or full-day blocks), allowing for sustained focus without weekly interruptions.

The work is exploratory, collaborative, and paced according to nervous system capacity.
