Why I do This

I love using IFS Therapy to help people in their process of deepening their self-awareness and balancing their care for others with care for themselves. It's a thrill when clients start to feel more agency and strength and begin taking steps to bring harmony into their lives.

About Me

As an American Asian, I have lived a blend of two cultures. With my father’s roots set in Croatia and whose family migrated to mid-western U.S. and my mother being from the Philippines, I’ve been afforded a rich life of mixed customs, traditions and practices. These experiences have familiarized me with the nuances of blending cultures and how it shapes who we are and our values.

Finding my voice along the way has been a journey of sorts. As I navigated two different cultures, I too experienced the polarization of wanting to say/do one thing but found myself saying/doing the opposite, or instead, shut down and stayed quiet. Through my own IFS therapy, I have learned the positive intentions of my protectors and embrace them as my internal heroes.

Together, you and I can use IFS to gain clarity about your protectors and the heroic journey they’ve taken on to protect your vulnerable parts.

 As a Psychotherapist

Being a psychotherapist is my second career. After being in the science field, I longed to work in a deeper capacity and decided to go back to school to study counseling. I earned my Master's degree in Counseling in 2005 from Sonoma State University and became licensed as an MFT in 2013.

As a Level 3 Internal Family Systems psychotherapist, I continually strive to be and do better by consistently attending trainings and participating in ongoing consultation, supervision and groups to enhance my skills and grow as a therapist, with a focus on IFS.

My Interests

I feel a link to nature, so outside of my work as a psychotherapist, I love being outdoors in the elements, whether running/walking with my dogs, taking in the sky and wildlife or feeling the rain. Additionally, I dance hula, spend time with family/friends and enjoy down time with a good series or a book.

Let’s work together.
