My Therapeutic Approach & Style

I work from an Internal Family Systems (IFS) perspective.

IFS helps clients understand the different “parts” of themselves—such as parts that over function, people-please, shut down, or feel critical or ashamed, without pathologizing them.

My style is:

Curious and collaborative

Non-judgmental and paced

Focused on understanding why patterns exist, not forcing change

The goal is increased internal balance, self-trust, and the ability to make choices that align with what you genuinely want.

I provide online IFS therapy and IFS intensives for adult women and men in California who are highly capable and organized on the outside but feel anxious, depressed, or emotionally disconnected on the inside. They tend to be highly organized, high-functioning people who appear put-together but experience internal emotional numbing, or shut-down. My work focuses on helping them better understand themselves, develop healthier boundaries, and feel more aligned with who they truly are.

This work is often a strong fit if you:

  • Are dependable, organized, and frequently relied on at work or in your community

  • Are seen as capable or “having it together,” even when you feel overwhelmed internally

  • Take on more responsibility than your time or energy allows

  • Struggle with guilt, fear, or paralysis around saying no or setting boundaries

  • Feel anxious, exhausted, depressed, or emotionally numb despite external success

  • Sense that something needs to change but feel stuck or unsure how

  • Are curious about your internal world rather than seeking quick fixes

  • Are interested in understanding your patterns and internal conflicts

  • Want to reconnect with your needs, values, and authentic voice

  • Are open to a depth-oriented, parts-based approach

This practice may not be a good fit if you:

  • Are currently experiencing a mental health crisis

  • Are suicidal or need immediate crisis support

  • Have been psychiatrically hospitalized within the past 12 months

  • Are seeking couples therapy, family therapy, or treatment for active substance dependence

If you are in crisis, immediate or local support is recommended. Please call 988 or 911 to connect with your local support systems.
